Public workstations and library laptops have software that will delete anything that has been saved to the computer and will return any changed settings to their original state once the computer has been shut down and re-started.
Bring a storage device (flash drive or other external drive) on which to save your work.
Save your work online in an online data storage space (Google Docs, OneDrive, etc.).
E-mail your work to yourself as an attachment.
Ask a library staff member if you need assistance with saving. The library does NOT have flash drives or blank CDs available for purchase.
Students can check out laptops from the Circulation Desk (1st floor) to use inside the library. Printing is not available with PCC laptops. Students can connect to the Internet with the wireless network provided in the library or by network cables located in various places on the 1st and 2nd floors.
Library patrons with their own laptops can access the Internet using PCC Library’s wireless network or with network cables available on each floor of the library. Printing is not available from personal laptops.
The primary purpose of the computers in the library is for academic use. Should all computer workstations be in use, those who are surfing the Internet, playing games, listening to music, etc. may be asked to give up their computer to a person who needs to complete an assignment or do research.
