According to https://nationaltoday.com, “In the global initiative to create the most positive day in the world, World Compliment Day is celebrated every March 1 to spread joy through simple verbal affirmations of appreciation. Giving a compliment is easy — whatever it is, it can change someone’s whole day around.”
At the library, we want to be a part of this by painting rocks. Rock painting can be dated as far back as 40,000 years ago when nomadic people made drawings in caves they passed. Today, you can paint inspirational messages or create beautiful designs to show your appreciation for someone. Rock painting can benefit you on both psychological and physical levels – it keeps your mind focused and distracts you from outside stressors.
Please join us on Wednesday, March 1st between 11am and 2pm on the first floor of the library to paint a rock or two in honor of World Compliment Day. To ensure we have enough supplies, please register at https://pittcc.libcal.com/event/10030468 or email Evan Schmoll at eschmoll241@my.pittcc.edu.
