Library Databases and Security Certificate Errors

The Library is aware that you may be seeing certificate errors or security exception errors when clicking library database links. The issues has been reported to PCC IT Support.

Until the issue is resolved, you can still access the databases. Read through the instructions below for tips on how to get around the error messages. The steps will be different depending on the browser that you are using. 

If you are still having trouble, please contact the Library by using any of the methods listed on the Ask a Librarian page

Here are some very brief instructions on how to bypass this error message when using different browsers:

Google Chrome:

  1. Click “Advanced”

  2. Click “Proceed to [web site]”
     

Click Advanced

Click Proceed to  . . .

 

Mozilla Firefox:

 

  1. Click “Advanced”

  2. Click “Add Exception” (located toward the bottom of the screen)

  3. Click “Confirm Security Exception”

Click Advanced

Click Add Exception

Click Confirm Security Exception

Microsoft Edge:

  1. Click Details

  2. Click Go on to the website

Click Details

Click "go on to the webpage"

Safari:

  1. Click “Continue”

Some of the above instructions will depend on the version of the browser that you have, the settings on your individual computer, etc. If you are unable to bypass the error screen in order to access database content, please let us know and we will help you.
