The issue is . . .

A student is having trouble accessing a Kanopy video link in her Moodle course. When clicking the link, the student gets an error page stating: “Can't access website”

Here's what to try:

  1. Verify that the correct link is being used in the course. There is a Kanopy libguide page with a section for instructors on how to find the correct links to use in courses. Here's an example of a correct Share link from Kanopy: https://www.kanopy.com/en/pittcc/video/12734341

  2. Open the link in a different browser. For example, if you are using MS Edge, try using Chrome instead.

  3. Update the browser that's being used.

  4. Find and access the video via the Library database instead of using the link provided in Moodle. For Kanopy, follow these instructions:
    • From the Library homepage, click the A-Z Databases button.
    • Click the letter “K” then scroll down and click the link for Kanopy.
    • Click the Login with MyPittCC button. Login if prompted.
    • From the Kanopy homepage, click Search
    • Type the title of the video in the search box. Click Search.
    • Scroll through the results until you locate the correct video.

If none of this works, you will need to let us know by either using the Report a Problem form, or contacting a librarian via the Ask Us page.
