How does Kanopy work?

Our Kanopy subscription includes a huge variety of documentaries and films that you can watch instantly. PCC library patrons (students, staff, or community members) can view any of the films found in the database. Kanopy works on most any mobile device and TV. PCC instructors can request the Library purchase titles that are not already included in the base package.

There are two login options on the Kanopy homepage:

• LOG IN TO PITTCC (orange button)
  Use LOG IN TO PITTCC if you want to have off-campus access and start watching videos right away.
   
• LOG IN (top right corner)
  Use LOG IN if you want to create your own personal Kanopy account where you can save watchlists, get recommendations, etc.

You can search by keyword using the search box, or click Browse to view films by category and subject area.

Kanopy content is easily streamed over a variety of devices and Internet browsers. Use the links below to get apps for your particular device.

• Link to the Kanopy database: https://pittcc.kanopy.com
• Link to an individual film: Find the film in the database, click Share, copy the Share Link. Embed code is also available. 
• If you have questions about adding Kanopy content to your Moodle courses, please contact the Library.

Can't find something?

Some films in Kanopy are only available via special order. We also have access to SWANK Digital Campus and Films on Demand. A librarian can help you figure out if the Library can provide the video you need.
