The resources listed in this guide are meant to help you learn basic skills related to computers and the Internet. There are a mix of resources that are provided for free online, and those that are provided by the Library. If you have any questions, please contact the Library.

Computer Basics

These are free online tutorials that anyone can use. You do not need a PCC login to use these websites from off campus.

DigitalLearn
A site with timed tutorials on different computer-related skills, such as navigating websites and using Microsoft Word.
Tech Life Unity: Tech Basics
A website featuring straightforward tutorials especially on using the internet.
Basic Computer Skills [WISC-ONLINE]
Includes pre-assessment modules, interactive units on using computer devices, e-mail basics, file management, accessing and using the internet and social media, and how to manage personal data online. You can create an account to save your progress or complete modules as a guest.

Typing

These are free online resources that allow you various ways to learn how to type or to improve your typing skills. You do not need a PCC login to use these websites from off campus.

Typing Club
Offers brief lessons that incorporate both hands (practicing keys F and J) in the beginning lesson.
Typing Tutorial [GCF Global]
A verbal guided tutorial through the process of typing.
keybr
This web application will help you to learn touch typing which means typing through muscle memory without using your eyesight to find the keys.
Typing Academy
This site allows you to modify some of the features such as keyboard layout (e.g. Windows or Macintosh) and the amount of time for each exercise.
