• Costa Rica is home to 161 national parks and wildlife refuges.
• The country has over 100 volcanic cones, of which several are major active volcanoes. 
• Costa Rican coffee beans are considered among the best in the world.
• The local currency is the colon (C).

Internet Search Tip!

You can limit your Internet search results to websites from Costa Rica by adding their country code top-level domain (.cr) immediately following "site:" in your search phrase. 

Search examples:

• site:.cr tourism
• site:.cr national parks
• site:.cr crime

Use site: and secondary domains to restrict your search even more.

• site:.ac.cr will limit your search to universities
• site:.co.cr - commercial
• site:.ed.cr - education: colleges, high schools, etc.
• site:.fi.cr - financial institutions such as banks, etc.
• site:.go.cr - government
• site:.or.cr - non-profit organizations
• site:.sa.cr - health related institutions

Keep in mind that the pages you find will most likely be in Spanish! 

The username and password to access databases is the same as what you use to log in to myPittCC and Moodle. The username is your entire myPittCC email address (jdstudent000@my.pittcc.edu).
