How you can access PCC Library resources online and in person.

Access Databases

You do not have to have a "library account" or "library card" to use the online databases if you have a myPittCC account!

How do I log in?

The username and password that you will use to access databases online is exactly the same as what you use to access myPittCC (Moodle, PCC campus portal).

  • Username: Your entire myPittCC email address. Example:
  • Password: Use the same password you use to log in to myPittCC (Moodle, campus portal).

The campus has an information page about how to log in to myPittCC, especially if it's your first time.

When do I log in?

You only have to log in if you click a database link or a link that takes you to information found inside a Library database. Once you click a database link, you will be prompted to login to myPittCC.

What if I need help?

Trouble logging in to a database:

  • First, read our Online Access page for tips on what could be happening.
  • If you still can't log in, go to the ASK US page and contact a librarian.

Don't know your myPittCC login:

  • Contact the PCC Helpdesk (Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.):

  • You will need to know your Pitt CC student ID number when you call the PCC Helpdesk.
  • The Library does not have access to your login information.

Renew Library Materials

You can renew a checked-out library item as long as no one else has placed a hold on the item and it is not overdue. 

For first time renewals you can use any of the methods listed below. After you have renewed your item one time by calling, e-mailing, or using the online renewal form, you will need to bring your item to the Circulation Desk in person every other time you want to renew that item. You can renew an item multiple times as long as no one else has requested it.

Methods for renewing library materials:

  • Call the Circulation Desk:  (252) 493-7350
  • E-mail the Circulation Desk:
  • Visit the Circulation Desk.
  • Renew your items online.

Follow these steps to renew your items ONLINE:

Open the Library Catalog direct link.

Click the "Library Account Login" button (top right corner).

  • You will be prompted to log in to your PCC Library account:
    • Library Card Number = Your 7-digit PCC ID Number or your Library Barcode Number 
    • PIN = Last four digits of the phone number used to create your PCC Library account
  • Click Log in.
  • If you do not have a PCC Library account, or know your correct library number or PIN, you will need to contact the Circulation Desk:

Once logged in, click Items Checked Out.

Select the check boxes next to the item(s) you want to renew. 

Click Renew Selected.

You'll get a pop up box asking, "Are you sure you wish to renew the selected item(s)?" Choose OK.

Make note of the new due date.

Once you have made your selections and renewed them, click on "Logout".
