About the Library

Library Cards & Accounts

Having a PCC Library account allows you to check out books, reserve items, and other equipment, request articles and books through interlibrary loan, and in the case of community residents, it will also allow you to get access to many of the Library's online research databases. Your PCC ID card will be your library card once you have set up a library account. Community patrons will be issued a library card when their account is created.

NOTE: Faculty, staff, and students (including Early College and CCP) do not need to have a PCC Library account to access the online resources. All you need is your campus portal (myPittCC, Moodle) login information.

PCC Students & Employees

  1. Go to the Circulation Desk (1st floor, Everett Building).
  2. Have your valid PCC ID card.
  3. Complete a registration card.
  4. Your PCC ID number will be your Library account number.

Online Application

Procedure:

  1. Complete the online library account application form.
  2. Your seven-digit PCC ID number will be your Library account number (barcode number).
  3. A library staff member will contact you as soon as your library account has been activated.

Community Residents

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must be a resident of Pitt County, North Carolina.
  • You must present a valid picture ID.
  • Community residents will be issued a library card with a barcode number. You will use this barcode number to access your library account.

Renew Your Account

Your library account is reactivated when you check out materials for the first time in a new semester. While you’re at the Circulation Desk, Library staff will verify your address, phone, and student status. If you are a student taking no on-campus classes, you can renew your library card account via e-mail:  pittlrc@email.pittcc.edu

ECU Libraries

Pitt Community College students, faculty, and staff with a valid PCC ID may borrow materials from any of the ECU libraries (Joyner Library, Laupus Health Sciences Library, and the Music Library). To establish an account at an ECU library, present your current PCC ID and a valid driver's license or other valid picture identification card at the appropriate service desk and an account will be created for you. Cooperative borrowers who establish an account gain borrowing privileges as well as on-campus access to the library databases and other online resources.

NOTE: Some ECU library materials may not be available for check-out by cooperative borrowers.
