Search Tips and Examples:

Use the following examples as a guide for what to type in the Summon search box:

• "motor skills"
• "motor skills" AND handwriting
• "memory function"
• "occupational therapy" AND stroke

Once you have a list of results, use the options in the side bar to refine your results by date, type of resource, subject, etc.

Medical Databases:

You may prefer to search individual medical databases for scholarly articles. If you need help, please ask a librarian!

American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT)

• Online access is available through the Gale Academic OneFile database. 
• Use the search tips below to learn how to find AJOT articles.
• If you have questions, ask a librarian for help.

Limit Search Results to Articles from AJOT

1. Click to open Gale Academic OneFile.
2. Enter keywords or phrases in the search box. Example: handwriting AND intervention
3. Click Search.
4. Once you've gotten a list of articles, click Publication Title.
5. If there are any articles from AJOT in the results list, you will be able to check the box beside AJOT. 

Browse AJOT Articles & Issues

Open the Gale Academic OneFile database.

Scroll down and under Search Tools, click Go to Publication Search.

Type AJOT in the search box. Click Search.

There should be one result for AJOT: American Journal of Occupational Therapy. Click the link provided.

Use the options on the AJOT page to view individual issues by date, or use the Search Within Publication search box to enter keywords and limit to AJOT articles that mention the keywords you've entered. 

OT Practice
Print copies from the current year are located in the Periodicals collection on the 2nd floor. Older issues are in storage.

If PCC Library does not have a full-text article that you need, we can see if another library is able to provide it through our interlibrary loan (ILL) service. Just fill out the ILL form as completely as possible. Articles are typically e-mailed directly to you.
