Biography FAQs

Where is the biography section?

PCC Library does not have a section with just biographies. The biographies are actually scattered throughout the entire library collection. If you're looking for a biography of a musician, it will be shelved with books about music.  If you're looking for a biography of a physicist, it will be shelved in the science section. Ask a librarian if you need assistance.

What is the difference between autobiography and biography?

  • Autobiography: gives the details of a person's life, as written by that person
  • Biography: gives the details of a person's life, as written by someone else
  • Thus, all autobiographies are considered biographies, but not all biographies are autobiographies.
