The mission of NC AHEC is to meet the state’s health and health workforce needs. NC AHEC provides educational programs and services that bridge academic institutions and communities to improve the health of the people of North Carolina with a focus on underserved populations.
The North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy was established by the 1984 session of the N. C. General Assembly. The first Board meeting was held in September 1985 and licenses began being issued in 1986.
The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is the national professional association established in 1917 to represent the interests and concerns of occupational therapy practitioners and students of occupational therapy and to improve the quality of occupational therapy services.
