Dogwood Digital Library is a huge collection of popular e-books, audiobooks, and a growing number of manga and comics. Only PCC staff and students with a myPittCC email account can checkout items from Dogwood Digital.

Access Dogwood Digital Library

You can click the link below to open Dogwood Digital. See the instructions further down on the page to find out how to set up your personal account. You can check-out and read (or listen) to books while logged in to your Dogwood Digital account via an internet browser. There is also an option to download the Libby App (e-reader and audiobook player) to use and manage the items you check out from Dogwood Digital on mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.).

Create an Account

Download the Libby App and Set Up Dogwood Digital Library

These instructions take you through downloading an app and connecting to Dogwood Digital Library so that you can access the contents (e-books and audiobooks) on your device. These instructions are based on what happens with an iPhone, so things may be slightly different when using an Android, laptop, etc.

  1. Download the Libby app [opens a new window] onto your device.
  2. Open Libby.
  3. It will ask: Do you have a library card? Choose YES (even if you don't have one)
  4. Next, choose: Search For A Library
  5. Start typing Dogwood Digital in the search box. (DO NOT search for Pitt yet!)
  6. Choose: Dogwood Digital Library, 630 Main Street, Dobson, NC (yes, this is correct!)
  7. Click: Sign In With My Card
  8. Click the button to see 36 MORE then choose Pitt Community College from the list.
  9. The next message says: At this library, you sign into your card via a secure website... Click Next.
  10. Your phone may ask you to allow Libby to use Overdrive.com to sign in. Click Continue.
  11. Sign in with your myPittCC credentials (do not include the @my.pittcc.edu in the username) and click the Login button.
  12. You will now see an image of a "Linked Card." Rename the card if you like, otherwise, click Next.
  13. If you are using a Kindle, choose that option. Otherwise, choose Skip.
  14. You should now be able to browse and checkout available e-books and audiobooks. 

Laptop or Desktop Computer (no app required)

Access Dogwood Digital on a Computer and Create an Account

  1. Click the Dogwood Digital Library link. You may be prompted to enter your MyPittCC username and password when you click this link from off campus.
  2. Once Dogwood Digital is open, click Sign In.
  3. Under Select Your Library, choose Pitt Community College from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click the Sign In button, which will take you to the PCC Off-Campus Library Database Access screen.
  5. You will need to log in again using your myPittCC username and password (even if you logged in earlier). This is what creates your personal account.
  6. You will now be directed back to the Dogwood Digital homepage. The difference now, is that you will see “My account” instead of “Sign In.” This means that you now have a personal account in Dogwood Digital that will allow you to check out materials. 

Libby App

Libby App iconLibby is an app that makes it easy to manage and use the items you check out from Dogwood Digital Library. It includes an e-book reader and an audiobook player. The things you check out are automatically downloaded to your device (while it's connected to WiFi, so that when you are not online, you can continue to read or listen on the go.

  • E-book Reader: customize how you read by adjusting font size, book layout, and lighting; add bookmarks, create notes and highlights; define words
  • Audiobook Player: listen to audiobooks when, where, and how you want; swipe the book cover to skip backward or forward; increase playback speed up to 3x

IMPORTANT: The video mentions needing a library card, but all you need is a myPittCC account. PCC students and employees do not need a library card in order to access our online resources - just your myPittCC login (do not include @my.pittcc.edu when logging in).
