About SWANK

How does SWANK work?

  • For Instructors:
Instructors can search the SWANK Digital Campus catalog and then request a particular film be added to those available for viewing through PCC Library. When you click the link provided for SWANK Digital Campus via the library website, you are only seeing the films that have been requested by PCC instructors for use in their classes.

  • For Students:
Students will typically use SWANK when their instructor provides them with a link to a particular movie in their course. However, any PCC library patrons can view any of the films available in SWANK at any time.

Browsers & Viewing

You must use Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to view content from SWANK. Make sure to use an updated version of whichever browser you choose for viewing.

Notes for Instructors

Direct Links for Moodle

  • You must use the direct link provided by SWANK in order for the films to work from off campus.
  • Open the SWANK Digital Campus database and click to open the film you want to assign.
  • Click the "Copy Direct Link" button.
  • You can then add the URL as a resource in your course. There is no need to add anything to this link for it to work from off campus.

Licensing

  • These films can be linked in your online classes or shown in the classroom.
  • PCC Library is paying for the licensing for each film through SWANK Digital Library.
