Background Information

When you begin research for a project, you will typically start by reading background information on your topic, which can be found in reference sources such as encyclopedias and handbooks.

Background information can help you:

  • learn more about an unfamiliar topic
  • identify important keywords and concepts
  • narrow or expand your search
  • find other resources on your topic

Online Access

Paw: Indicates that a password is needed to access the resource from off campus.The username and password to access databases is the same as what you use to log in to myPittCC and Moodle. The username is your entire myPittCC email address (jdstudent000@my.pittcc.edu).
