Your Pitt CC ID card is your library card. To borrow items, you must first set up a library account [opens a new window]. The usual lending period for books is 21 days, with 3 renewals. You can have up to 10 items checked out to your account at one time.
Options for renewing: renew online, call (252) 493-7350, e-mail [pittlrc@email.pittcc.edu] or stop by.
Use the book return box located outside the building or bring items inside to the Circulation Desk.
You have access to an amazing amount of articles, e-books, films, practice tests, audiobooks, and other high quality research materials online. As long as you have an active myPittCC account, you do not need a library account (card) to use the online databases.
There are lots of areas around the library to meet with groups or study individually. You can also reserve a study room online. Large screen monitors with HDMI cables, dry erase boards (mounted, portable, tabletop), and dry erase supplies are available.
Printing, scanning, and photocopying are available in the Library. Curriculum students get $10 of print credit at the start of each semester. You can add more money to your print account (cash only) at the circulation desk. Wireless printing is not available. You must print from a library desktop computer. The photocopier works with cash/coin only and is not connected to your print account.
The Library provides access to an open computer lab, laptops, and other types of equipment. Wi-fi access is also provided.
Do not save your work on a library computer or laptop! Anything you download or save will not be there the next time the computer is rebooted.
If the Library doesn't own something that you need, we can borrow it from another library. If it's a book or music score you pick it up from us and if it's an article we will email it to you. This service is free.
If you are not sure how to get started finding information for your projects, contact a librarian! We can help you focus your topic, search for sources, evaluate information, and cite the references that you decide to use in your project.
The Library also provides practice tests (TEAS, NCLEX, etc.), audiobooks, e-books, fiction books, comics, documentaries and films, anatomy models, language learning databases, virtual reality headsets, and so much more.
