About the Library

First Floor Lab - CWE 104

First Floor Lab, Room 104PCC faculty and staff may reserve the downstairs lab under the following conditions:

  • Request a reservation using the CWE 104 online form [opens a new window].
  • Wait for a confirmation from a librarian before coming to the Library.
  • Remain with your class for the duration of the reserved time slot.

Available Equipment

  • 23 computer stations
  • 1 instructor computer station
  • whiteboard
  • projector

Instructors

  • Faculty can reserve the lab for class instruction.
  • Instructors are limited to a maximum of five requests per semester
  • Recurring semester-length classes are prohibited.
  • Instructors must remain with their students for the duration of the reserved lab time.
  • Should the instructor be late by 15 minutes or unavailable to meet for the day, the reservation will be canceled for the day.

Club Advisors

  • Pitt Community College club and organization advisors may reserve the lab for workshops, events, meetings, etc.
  • Clubs and organizations are limited to two events per semester.
  • Advisors must remain with their student group for the duration of the reserved lab time.
  • Should the advisor be late by 15 minutes or unavailable to meet for the day, the reservation will be canceled for the day.

General Rules

  • The First Floor Computer Lab can only be used during the Library’s operating hours.
  • All reservations must be made at least 1 week in advance.
  • A librarian will approve all reservations via email. Please ensure you have received a confirmation email before coming to the Library.
  • All faculty and staff can view their approved reservations via the CWE 104 calendar (opens a new window).
  • The lab should be left in good condition: keyboards neat, chairs pushed in, and white boards clear.
  • The Library reserves the right to cancel or change reservations at any time. We will communicate with you using the email listed on the reservation form.

 

Open Lab - CWE 209

Open Lab Room 209There is an open computer lab on the 2nd floor of the Library in room 209. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Printers and scanners are located in the room. The lab also includes two iMac stations with access to Adobe Photoshop and other software of interest to graphic design students. This lab includes 35 PCs and 2 iMac stations.

IMPORTANT: The iMac stations are not connected to the print system. Therefore, you will need to save your work and print from a PC or take your files to another Mac lab on campus that allows printing.

Second Floor Lab - CWE 218

Instruction Lab Room 218The Library's instruction lab is located on the 2nd floor in room 218. The lab includes 34 computer workstations, one instructor station, two dry erase boards, ceiling mounted projector, and screen. Scheduling priority is given to the Library Instruction program.
